LAKE CITY, SC -- Florence County School District Three’s Office of Exceptional Children received a boost for its annual Special Events Day from the Columbus HOPE Foundation.
Special Events Day is a fun-filled day of activities and games for the district’s special needs students. This year’s event is scheduled for Friday, April 22.
Fran Barcomb of the Knights of Columbus presented a $1,000 donation on behalf of the Columbus Hope Foundation to Lisa Raison, a special needs teacher at Lake City High School, Thursday during the regular monthly meeting of the FCSD3 board of trustees.
The Columbus HOPE Foundation is a nonprofit corporation, operated by the Knights of Columbus in South Carolina. The Foundation is dedicated to increasing the self-reliance and dignity of people with intellectual disabilities.
The Knights of Columbus, a world organization, is dedicated to fraternity, charity, unity and patriotism. Through Operation Hope (tootsie roll drive), the Knights raise funds to help people with disabilities and special needs in the community and school districts
